ML Automation of Tourette Tic Detection
Project Details
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) has been found to be one of the promising therapeutic modalities for the treatment of a wide array of neurological conditions including Tourette Syndrome (TS).
TS is a continuous lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that is characterized by abrupt involuntary movements called "tics".
This project aims to find an automatic method for tic detection to assist in clinical evaluation of DBS therapy for TS treatment.
My work is to understand the literature regarding the project, complete and follow all IRB protocols for this study, and create a ML algorithm through Label Studio interface to label videos of tic physiology for local field potential event marking and write and submit/present a research report on the said research topic.
